POSTPONED EVENT! Benefit Concert for MUSIC RISING! Scholarship Fund

  • Dehart Community Center 120 Burnett Avenue Maplewood, NJ, 07040 United States (map)

The highlight concert of the spring season!  World-class local musicians and local student ensembles share their artistry to support music lessons for aspiring music students in our towns.

Pianist Joseph Kalichstein will be joined by violinist Philip Setzer, violist Michael Roth, cellist Sarah Hewitt Roth, and Maplewood's beloved "music man" and bassist Jim Buchanan, in performing Schubert's iconic "Trout Quintet."

The Columbia High School Honors Chamber Winds, the Harambee Chamber Orchestra, and the Kent Place School Clarinet Quintet will also appear.

The concert will take place in Maplewood's DeHart Community Center, 120 Burnett Avenue, in the Jim Buchanan Recital Room.  A reception with refreshments will follow.

All proceeds of this concert will go to the Music Rising! Scholarship Fund, a joint initiative of Maplewood Community Music and the Piano Teachers Consortium. The Scholarship Fund provides support for South Orange/Maplewood children and young people with financial need who want to take music lessons.

The concert is produced by Maplewood Community Music and the Piano Teachers Consortium.  For information, email tricia.tunstall@gmail.com.
