The Strollers Present: Working, A Musical

  • Burgdorff Center For The Performing Arts 10 Durand Road Maplewood, NJ, 07040 United States (map)

The Strollers of Maplewood is proud to present WORKING, A Musical, based on Studs Terkel's best-selling book of interviews with American workers. WORKING paints a vivid portrait of the men and women that the world so often takes for granted: the schoolteacher, the phone operator, the waitress, the millworker, the mason, and the housewife, just to name a few.

The strength of the show is in the core truths that transcend specific professions; the key is how people's relationships to their work ultimately reveal key aspects of their humanity, regardless of the trappings of the job itself.

In the revised 2012 version of WORKING, professions and score have been updated.

Featuring songs by Stephen Schwartz, Craig Carnelia, James Taylor, Mary Rodgers, Micki Grant, Susan Birkenhead, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Based on the book by Studs Terkel
Adapted by Nina Faso Stephen Schwartz
With additional contributions by Gordon Greenberg

The Strollers' production is directed by Rachel Rubin Ladutke
Musical Direction by Michael Nuzzo
