The Art Generators Launch Pop-Up Gallery with Grand Opening Celebration, “It’s Electric”
MAPLEWOOD, NJ -The Art Generators (TAG) are excited to announce the grand opening of a new pop-up gallery, The Art Generators Gallery (TAGG) on Friday, September 4, at 14 Newark Way in Maplewood. The gallery is presented in collaboration with Artie’s, who have made the space available for the project. The inaugural celebration, themed “It’s Electric”, will introduce a new creative destination committed to showcasing artists from both locally and afar, while fostering community, and bringing fresh energy to this growing section of Maplewood.
Founded less than two years ago by Natalie Crandall, Sumana Ghosh-Witherspoon, Ken Stanek, and Magie McGowan, The Art Generators have quickly become a driving force in the SOMA arts community. Since forming, the group has produced several local markets, with two more already scheduled in South Orange in September and November.
The new gallery will continue to build on that momentum by providing an ongoing space for workshops, artist talks, and community events, in addition to hosting First Friday art openings every month with different themes. The gallery plans to operate Thursday through Sunday every week.
“Our art markets have proven that people are looking for community and connection. This gallery lets us keep that conversation going.” said The Art Generators. “Creativity brings people together, and we’re looking forward to creating a space where everyone feels welcome”.
The Art Generators' newest launch is one of the latest businesses to open in this ever-growing section of Maplewood. Along with Artie’s, Newark Way is home to Pallet Brewery, with another corridor of stores such as Corner Slice, Shopkeeper, and Wheelhouse practically around the corner.
The public is invited to attend the grand opening celebration, “It’s Electric” on Friday, September 4th, to celebrate the launch of the gallery, meet local artists, and of course get some great food right across the street at Artie’s.
