Decisive Moments: Selected Photographs from Columbia High School

The Decisive Moment is one of the greatest photography books ever published. It brings together photographic material from the first twenty years of Henri Cartier-Bresson’s career. Originally published in 1952, with cover art by Henri Matisse, it was the first critical text on photography to introduce the now-famous expression “decisive moment”. The world renowned photographer, Robert Capa, considered The Decisive Moment to be a “bible for photographers.” To this day it remains an essential reference for photographers everywhere.
