Aimee Mower Lally

Aimee Mower Lally works in multiple mediums and processes. She received an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, has exhibited work in NYC and Chicago galleries, locally, and is in many private collections. Clay smells like home to Aimee, her father was a ceramics professor, and its use is a way to honor and connect with him. From the ancient and humble material of clay she explores forms that are handled, used, and enjoyed in daily rituals. They become a way of silently connecting to others, as they serve basic needs and offer beauty. Through her paintings, both realistic and abstract, she documents the contemporary world, embracing flux, its physical and emotional turbulence, searching for connections and illumination.
