Maplewood Memorial Library and SOMA Action Present a screening of John Lewis: Good Trouble

In these troubled times, we seek the wisdom of the Ancestors. John Lewis's "good trouble" philosophy emphasizes the importance of engaging in necessary and often disruptive [though non-violent] actions to challenge and improve societal injustices. He believed that such actions, while sometimes labeled as trouble, are essential for achieving positive social change. Lewis often urged people to speak out against injustices, even if it meant taking necessary trouble to provoke awareness and provoke change. His legacy continues to inspire individuals to take action in pursuit of equity and social justice, as he famously stated, "Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America".
