Join us in celebrating the Lavender Graduation for LGBTQIA+ and allied high school seniors on Friday, June 16, 2025, at Columbia High School Auditorium. This annual event, part of June's Pride Month, honors the achievements and contributions of LGBTQIA+ students. Organized in partnership with South Orange, SOMSD, CHS Spectrum Club, and NJ Safe Schools Coalition, it's a reaffirmation of our commitment to inclusive, supportive environments amidst increased attacks on LGBTQIA+ rights.  

Special guests will be announced for the ceremony, a response to the need for recognition and support underscored by local leaders. Graduates receive certificates, rainbow honor cords, and tassels. Open to all 2025 seniors; registration is necessary by May 30th.  

The initiative, begun in 2017, highlights MAPSO's commitment to visibility and inclusion, reflecting nationwide efforts since the first Lavender Graduation in 1995 at the University of Michigan. 

Community members are encouraged to attend and support our graduates at the graduation.
