Alisen Herman
Exploring different firing techniques, and how the elements of earth, air and fire react in gas reduction, salt, and wood kilns, Alisen’s use of glaze produces luscious surfaces kissed by the vapor in the atmosphere. Carbon tints the pots with iridescence while the Nautilus design, symbolizing growth and renewal, emerge from the hand painted surface. In addition to making her own artwork, Alisen continues to share her passion for design in ceramics with her students of all ages.
