In Celebration of Black History Month
Maplewood Memorial Library
Black History Month Ancestry Collage for Adults

The two-time Pulitzer Prize winner and bestselling author of Harlem Shuffle continues his Harlem saga in a powerful and hugely-entertaining novel that summons 1970s New York in all its seedy glory.

Connect with your roots, express your cultural pride and honor your family history through art. Join artist Beverly McCutcheon and craft your own Black History Month ancestry collage.

Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring family photos or lightweight trinkets/jewelry you’d like to incorporate into your collage. (We can make copies of them if you prefer.)

Collage and Assemblage artist Beverly McCutcheon has exhibited her work throughout New Jersey and New York and recently had a solo exhibit in New Orleans.
